Multipreg HX50
HX50 is an epoxy resin system that can be pre-impregnated into high performance fibers such as carbon and glass. This system offers the best surface finish available in the market. Our user tolerant prepreg is also renowned for its handleability and speed of lamination. A volatile free resin system, allowing either fast curing or low temperature processing of composite tools. Particularly suited to automotive tooling for the production of 3D shapes. Also available in kit form.

Wimmer Carbon Technology have been providing comprehensive solutions for the design and manufacture of fiberglass and carbon fiber parts for over 15 years. Wimmer’s latest challenge was to build the fastest and safest performance Bob Sleigh in the world. The production of these 150 km/h aerodynamic machines demands a high-tech composite structure, similar to motor racing construction, where energy absorption and stiffness are paramount.
Wimmer produced a set of high performance composite molds, using F1 CAD design technology and aerospace molding techniques. In partnership with Amber Composites, Wimmer used an HX50/EC85 carbon tooling package, allowing a low temperature cure for high accuracy molding of the composite monocoque.
