Multipreg 8020-FR
Our portfolio of multipregs is enhanced by the addition of 8020-FR. A flame retardant toughened epoxy resin component prepreg which offers flexible cure schedules and a long out-life in-line with our 8020 range. It is ideally suited for automotive and industrial applications where fire retardency is imperative. See our related product, Multipreg 8020.
Key Characteristics:
- Good adhesive properties; ideal for honeycomb sandwich construction without the use of a resin film
- The resin system used in Multipreg 8020-FR is fire resistant under FAR 25.853 Appendix F-vertical burn material test criteria (i)
- Medium tack level - easily laminated onto mold surfaces
- Excellent drape - complex shapes easily formed
- Controlled flow - excellent surface finish
- Low volatile content - no solvents in manufacturing process
- Flexible low to medium cure schedules 70°C(158°F) to 120°C(248°F)
- 30 days shelf life at ambient temperatures
